Women’s Therapy Center was established in 1996 with a goal of addressing women’s physical and emotional needs in a coordinated, ‘wholistic’ manner.Each of our founders, Dr. Katz and Dr. Tabisel, was already an established clinician for over 20 years prior to merging expertise and launching this unique team approach.Initially, patients were referred for treatment of sexual abuse only to realize that most of them were never abused, but rather were ‘estranged’ from their genitals, and presenting with vaginismus andor dyspareunia.That is when Women’s Therapy Center shifted its focus toward female genital and sexual health, advocating the intimate association between the woman’s mind and her vagina and genitals, whether the nature of her condition is physical, emotional, or both.
